Aragaki deserved help where he was from, to recover from his wounds or, failing that, the opportunity to come to a peaceful, permanent resting place. This purgatory, separated from his family and friends (if he indeed has any; Kim has his doubts), with no support, no answers, no rhyme or reason to it...
